I divide my meals up in 3 categories:

Quick to make - in which case I rush home so I can finish & take a picture in natural light.

Stews/soups/curries etc - leftovers looks good the next day and so I get up early to take the photos.

For all the other stuff - I reserve it for weekends and the very rare off day.

Of course this is not a problem in summer as we have wonderful light until 8 at night. But winter. Oy. It's a pain.

PS: Can your camera correct the white balance? That might help with your afternoon light. Or do a little fixing up post-processing - I can recommend picnik.com (it's free & online).Marisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12412734634457510531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2652909958001968335.post-14492254831654544982010-05-03T20:39:46.827+02:002010-05-03T20:39:46.827+02:00Same here, ditto, ditto. I find it hard enough getting supper on the table at an earlier enough time anyway, let alone trying to beat the sun too.
I used to post without photos quite happily, but having researched recipes for work recently, I've noticed that ones without a photo are so much harder to assess and relate to.Kithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11594062064082350697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2652909958001968335.post-54050030479244382442010-05-03T10:32:19.296+02:002010-05-03T10:32:19.296+02:00I could not have lamented better. I really battle to have dinner ready and plated while there is still enough natural light - soon we'll be eating at 5pm, just so I can get enough light!
That said, I love your chicken, lovely - looks like something I could try in my slow cooker?Homemade Heavenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14057023477235437450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2652909958001968335.post-43259544878852395972010-05-03T07:52:28.538+02:002010-05-03T07:52:28.538+02:00I hear you about the food photographs. I'm at work all day during the week. I'm saving up for a decent camera, which I think will help, as my little "mik-en-druk" is severely limited. I did experiment with using a rather bright light-bulb at night once or twice, and the results were actually lovely (almost like Orangette's style)... But it only worked on certain kinds of dishes. Oh dear, this is rather a long comment isn't it...?! Anyhoo, you have nothing to worry about - your foties are always gorgeous!Robynhttp://maclarty.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2652909958001968335.post-7665847511145020672010-05-01T14:57:10.533+02:002010-05-01T14:57:10.533+02:00Thanks for the mention dear Juno.....this stew loo...Thanks for the mention dear Juno.....this stew looks so comforting and heartwarming.....the aromas must have been divine!!!Nina Timmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00973980161399052340noreply@blogger.com
